S-I-N-G-A-P-O-R-E: Our AFCC Debut

S-I-N-G-A-P-O-R-E: Our AFCC Debut

Today was the big day we'd been waiting for: we finally got to launch Max & Pax at the Asian Festival of Children's Content!

I spoke about my journey into writing, what we hoped Max & Pax would mean to families, and how we wanted to inspire both the children and parents in the room. For the reading itself, we picked nine letters spelling out, what else, S-I-N-G-A-P-O-R-E!

The standout moment, though, belonged to my four-year-old son. He read three of the nine letters himself, including the closing E, in front of a room of strangers. It was a cute moment, but it was also live, unscripted proof that early reading really is possible with the right encouragement. This is exactly the kind of thing this book was written to support. My wife and I couldn't have been prouder of him.

We're deeply grateful to every parent and child who showed up and cheered us on that day. AFCC gave us that audience in the room as well as a reason to believe this book would be meaningful to that bigger audience out there.
