1,000 Reasons to get Max & Pax into Little Hands
Today, 25 boxes arrived at our door — 40 copies each, 1,000 books in total. We stacked them against the living room wall and just stared at them.
It was exciting and scary. One proof copy in my hands felt personal. A thousand copies feels like inventory. Somewhere between counting boxes and finding space to store them, it hit me: I am a self-published author with a stack of responsibility now sitting in my living room.
That mix of excitement and nerves eventually settled into a simple mission. These 1,000 copies aren't meant to sit indefinitely in the living room. They are meant to end up in the hands of young readers, and the parents reading alongside them. Because that's why we'd made this book in the first place: to turn Singapore's stories into rhymes families could read together at home and then go out and experience for themselves.
We don't know how far Max & Pax will travel. We just know it's time to get started.
